It’s not a secret anymore! The kick-off meeting of the SECRET project was held in Leeds, UK, between 16 to 17 February. The first host was the SARAS partner, an SME that develops electronic filters, radio frequency products and software solutions.
During the 42 months of the project the researchers propose themselves to develop a solution in which end-users take the role of distributor / wireless network access point in the new generation of 5G networks, acting as "small mobile cells" capable of providing high-speed mobile network with lower costs and low energy consumption.
This project is financed by the Marie Curie Actions, having a special nature by promoting the Doctoral research supported in the interdisciplinarity and the exchange of knowledge between the business and research sectors.
The consortium will receive 13 researchers who will develop their doctoral thesis in the scope of the project, the applications will be open until April 30, 2017.
In this context, Proef will host by July 2017 a foreign researcher, who for 3 years will focus his research work on the virtualization of communication networks.
